The whole fee, in one line

Creem charges 3.9% + $0.40 per transaction, all-in. There is no international card surcharge, no subscription surcharge, no PayPal surcharge, and no monthly platform fee. The rate on a domestic one-time sale is the same rate on a cross-border subscription renewal. That works out to $0.79 on a $10 sale (7.9% effective), $4.30 on $100 (4.3%), and $19.90 on $500 (4.0%). All figures were verified against creem.io/pricing on July 10, 2026.

Why international-heavy sellers care

Most merchant-of-record platforms add 1.5% for international cards, and some stack subscription surcharges on top. Creem’s flat rate makes it the cheapest established MoR once your customer base skews global. On a $49 international subscription, Creem takes $2.31 (4.7% effective) against $2.80 on Kelviq, $2.95 on Paddle, $3.69 on Polar’s Starter plan, and $3.93 on Lemon Squeezy. On a $100 international one-time sale the spread widens. Creem stays at $4.30 while Polar Starter and Lemon Squeezy each take $7.00, a $2.70 difference on a single sale.

Scaled up, a business collecting $10,000/month in $49 international renewals (204 charges) pays about $471 in Creem fees versus roughly $802 on Lemon Squeezy, a $331 monthly gap from the surcharges alone.

The payout catch for non-EU sellers

Creem pays out on the 1st and 15th of each month. EU sellers on SEPA pay nothing to receive funds. Everyone else pays $7 or 1% per payout, whichever is higher. The two regimes cross at $700 per payout. Below that, the $7 minimum applies and stings proportionally. Two $350 payouts in a month cost $14, an extra 2% on $700 of revenue. Above $700 per payout the fee is effectively 1% of everything withdrawn, and it never phases out. A US seller moving $20,000/month pays $200 in payout fees on top of transaction costs.

That pushes a non-EU seller’s true all-in toward 4.9% + $0.40, still below Paddle’s 5% + $0.50 but well above Creem’s headline rate. EU-based sellers keep the full 3.9% + $0.40 advantage.

What Creem has not published

Creem does not publish a dispute (chargeback) fee as of July 10, 2026. This calculator shows no dispute line for Creem rather than assuming it is free. For comparison, Stripe and Polar each charge $15 per dispute, so treat Creem’s as nonzero until confirmed in writing.

Optional fees you can switch on

Two features carry their own pricing. The affiliate program adds 2% on affiliate-attributed sales, and cart recovery adds 5% on carts it recovers. Both apply only to the transactions those features touch. A recovered $100 cart costs $9.30 in combined fees ($4.30 base plus $5.00 recovery), and ordinary sales are unaffected.

An EU company acting as merchant of record

Creem is an EU-based company operating as the merchant of record. It is the reseller on every transaction and handles VAT, sales tax, and GST calculation and remittance worldwide. Sellers contract with an EU entity, a jurisdictional detail worth noting if your compliance or banking setup treats EU counterparties differently from US ones.

The Lemon Squeezy migration effect

Lemon Squeezy (5% + $0.50 with 1.5% international, 0.5% subscription, and 1.5% PayPal surcharges) is being migrated to Stripe Managed Payments following Stripe’s acquisition, at roughly 6.4% + $0.30 all-in. For a seller weighing the three paths on a $49 international renewal, the fees are $3.93 on Lemon Squeezy today, about $4.66 after migration to Stripe Managed Payments, and $2.31 on Creem. That two-point-plus spread explains why Creem appears so frequently as a destination in Lemon Squeezy migration discussions.

Where Creem fits

Creem carries the lowest flat all-in rate among established merchants of record, and it wins every international scenario in this comparison against Paddle, Polar, and Lemon Squeezy. Kelviq is cheaper on domestic one-time sales at its standard rate ($3.90 versus $4.30 on $100), and Stripe is cheaper still ($3.20) if you handle tax registration and filing yourself. The two open items to price into any decision are the unpublished dispute fee and the 1% payout cost that non-EU sellers pay on withdrawn funds.

Frequently asked questions

Creem charges a flat 3.9% + $0.40 per transaction with no monthly fee. There are no surcharges for international cards, subscriptions, or PayPal. A $100 sale costs $4.30 in fees (4.3% effective), and a $10 sale costs $0.79 (7.9%).

No. Creem’s 3.9% + $0.40 applies identically to domestic and international transactions, unlike Polar, Lemon Squeezy, and Kelviq, which each add 1.5% for international cards. On a $49 international subscription, Creem charges $2.31 versus $3.93 on Lemon Squeezy.

EU sellers receive SEPA payouts free. Sellers elsewhere pay $7 or 1% per payout, whichever is higher, with payouts sent on the 1st and 15th of each month. Below $700 per payout the $7 minimum applies. Above it, the fee is effectively 1% of withdrawn funds.

Creem had not published a dispute fee as of July 10, 2026, so this calculator shows no dispute line for Creem rather than assuming zero. For reference, Stripe and Polar each charge $15 per dispute. Sellers with dispute-prone products should confirm the figure with Creem directly.

Yes. Creem acts as the merchant of record, meaning it is the legal reseller on each transaction and handles VAT, sales tax, and GST calculation and remittance worldwide. It is an EU-based company, so sellers contract with an EU entity.

On a $49 international subscription, Creem charges $2.31 versus $3.93 on Lemon Squeezy, about 41% less. Lemon Squeezy is also being migrated to Stripe Managed Payments (roughly 6.4% + $0.30 all-in) following its acquisition, which would raise that renewal’s fee to about $4.66.

Two opt-in features carry extra costs. Affiliate-attributed sales add 2%, and cart recovery adds 5% on carts it recovers. Each applies only to the transactions the feature generates, and neither changes the base 3.9% + $0.40 rate on ordinary sales.
